A pool of dyed water serves as a conductor of my reflection, and my body as the agent, which dismantles my reflected image through direct manipulation of the water. I am exploring the idea of separation in one’s identity in relation to the physical image of one's body. By selecting film stills of the documentation where my reflection is contorted, then painting their portrait, I am declaring a reinvented identity. There is a separation between my inner self and the image I see in my reflection. This image is an object, which has become foreign in relation to my inner self.

I Think of Man, Part I

Staring over a puddle of water contemplating the human situation. Wondering how we all got here, and how things have gotten so out of control. Instead of his own reflection staring back, there are a myriad of anthropomorphic figures
This narrative points to the philosophies of Deism and the watchmaker analogy. The unwinding of the clock by intelligent ravens suggests how man with his ever growing intelligence has twisted the path the world was set to in the beginning.
